Kent Fire have told businesses in Canterbury to replace all plastic cable ties holding wires with metal ties.
Certification
All fire doors should display a certificate or plug clearly on the top (sometimes side) of the door. Just removing the sticker will void compliance with UK fire safety regulations.
Communal Buildings
Fire doors in multi-occupied residential buildings must be self-closing and meet FD30S standards (30-minute fire resistance), with responsible persons needing to conduct regular checks.
Fire Door Closer
Fire door closers should ideally close from a 90-degree open position within a range of 3 to 25 seconds, with a maximum closing time of 25 seconds for doors without delayed action.
